LaRue County Busted Records
A booking record begins the moment an arrest or commitment brings someone into the LaRue County Detention Center. The elected jailer runs that facility. He keeps the custody-side material. Several agencies can make the arrest, though. The LaRue County Sheriff's Office, Hodgenville Police, or Kentucky State Police might all sit behind the same event. The result is a paper trail with many hands. The agency report, the jail record, the photo, and the later court file can rest with four different custodians.
What goes into intake? Identity checks, a booking number, the listed charge, bond data, release data, and a photograph. A mugshot is just that. It is an identification image taken at one point in time. It says nothing about how the case ended or whether the charge held up.
LaRue Booking Records Field by Field
A LaRue County booking file can hold far more than a photo. Some fields vary from case to case. Some content gets withheld or redacted entirely. The fields worth chasing are the ones that pin down the right person, the source agency, the custody event, and the court trail that follows.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name and booking ID | Identifies the intake and separates similar names. |
| Arrest and intake time | Shows two events that may occur at different times. |
| Agency and facility | Identifies who arrested the person and who held them. |
| Charge as booked | The charge entered at intake, not the outcome. |
| Bond and court reference | Procedural data that can change. |
| Release status | A custody event, not a case result. |
| Photograph | An identification image subject to release and retention rules. |
Steer clear of private personal data, medical or classification details, victim information, and confidential law-enforcement content. Kentucky juvenile records are restricted as well. Keep the request narrow. A tight ask helps the custodian locate the record without dragging in protected material.
Request LaRue Busted Mugshot Records
No verified official roster or photo search exists for the county right now. The practical route is the county's current records process. One quirk is worth knowing. The sheriff and the jailer work out of different suites in the same complex. Ask which office actually holds the record you want before you submit anything.
- Review the current sheriff page and amended rules.
- Use the official records request form. Give the name, booking date, agency if known, and specify the booking record and photo.
- Ask the office to confirm the custodian, redactions, fee, and access format.
- Contact the jail for custody material and the arresting agency for its incident report.
- Keep the response and cited legal basis for any denial.

The Kentucky Open Records Act generally gives an agency five business days to respond, subject to statutory rules. Fees are where it gets tricky. The sheriff's fee table lists photographs at $25, but it never labels that line as the booking-photo charge. Confirm the cost first. And don't apply the separate report fee to a mugshot request, since the two are distinct.
LaRue Records Rules Changed
Records rules here have shifted over time. A 2022 Attorney General decision involving the prior Sheriff's Office flagged missing rules and an incorrect email address. The current county page now links amended 2025 rules along with a request form. Work from present county materials. An old domain or contact pulled from an older decision can lead you wrong. Save the current form. Note the date you sent it.
Note: Current county sources control over old details, but the custodian still decides access, redaction, fees, and which record answers a request.
Kentucky Busted Mugshot Law
Kentucky treats booking photographs and official inmate photos within its public-record framework, though exemptions can shield privacy and active investigations. Release is never automatic. Juvenile records are restricted under KRS 610.320 and KRS 610.340. Never copy a juvenile name or photograph from an unofficial page.
KRS 61.8746 restricts commercial publication arrangements that demand money or other consideration to remove a booking or inmate image. It is not a deletion rule. If someone demands payment, preserve the demand and seek advice from counsel or the proper agency. Skip the paid removal firms.
Fixing a record starts with verifying the source. Factual errors belong with the jailer or the arresting agency. Disposition and expungement questions go to the Circuit Clerk. Kentucky's official forms index carries expungement forms, though eligibility turns on the specific facts.
Unofficial sites set their own terms. RecentlyBooked states its correction or removal process is free. Mugshots.com describes free record maintenance for listed legal changes, and Busted Newspaper links its route from listings. No verified LaRue-specific free process exists for Arrests.org, while Mugshots.zone offers only general contact. These policies can change, and none of them can alter an agency or court record. Once a source updates, Google's outdated-content process may refresh a stale search result.
Where Old LaRue Mugshots Go
Kentucky's approved records schedule for county jails sorts jail paperwork into separate series. Registers hold names, commitment and discharge details, and offense fields. Daily logs, special reports, inmate files, and classification sheets each get their own line. Most of these series face destruction five years after release. Non-evidentiary video and audio can go much sooner. Evidence, though, stays until the investigation or any legal need ends.
So a booking photo tucked inside an inmate file may meet a different fate than a line in a register or a newspaper PDF. The schedule alone proves nothing about any particular LaRue County file. Litigation holds, audits, access restrictions, and other exceptions can all change the outcome. Anyone making a precise archive request should ask two things. Does the named record still exist? Which schedule entry, restriction, or exception governs it?
State corrections runs on its own track. Group 0635, series 02990, titled Inmates and Releases, is a daily-updated series. It can hold an offender's name, ID number, photo, convictions, conviction county, institution, and probation or parole dates. Kentucky calls for permanent agency retention there, subject to access limits and legal review. KRS 196.099 adds a duty as well. DOC must keep a photographic record of every inmate committed to its custody and refresh that image over time.
That leaves two trails, both real and both incomplete. A local register may pass its five-year mark while a later state commitment lives on permanently in a DOC file. A private news page might outlast an official local series that was destroyed. The reverse happens too. A private page disappears while the government record stands. Either way, one trail by itself never tells the whole story of an arrest history or current custody.
No LaRue booking-photo collection turned up in the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives digital catalog. That does not mean old records are gone. Material could sit with the jailer, rest in a county records center, remain held as evidence, or live in the Herald News archive. An inquiry to KDLA should name LaRue County, the creating agency, a date range, and a record type, such as a booking register, daily jail log, inmate file, or booking photograph. KDLA can explain schedules and transfers, but it does not hold every LaRue jail image.
Find LaRue Busted Mugshots Officially
The strongest search starts with current custody and ends with the court outcome. LaRue has no verified public roster. So go to official contacts first, not to a name gallery.
- Call the detention center at 270-358-9876 for local custody and its custodian.
- Ask the arresting agency for its completed incident record.
- File a narrow county request for a booking sheet or photograph.
- Use KOOL for state status and VINE for custody notices.
- Confirm charges and disposition with the Circuit Clerk.
Does no online result prove release? No. LaRue County publishes no official public roster. Other sources lag behind reality too. So fit your search to whichever custody system actually holds the person.
Where LaRue Busted Mugshots Appear
Every channel answers a different question. Start with official sources. Commercial pages may sit stale, run incomplete, or point to another facility altogether.
| Channel | Photo? | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Jail and records request | By request | Original local custody material |
| KOOL | Most profiles | State custody, not same-day booking |
| VINE | No | Custody notifications |
| Circuit Clerk | Not a mugshot source | Case file and disposition |
| Herald News archive | No photos observed | Weekly historical jail logs |
| Five commercial county pages | Often | Unofficial leads requiring verification |
The Herald News archive carries text jail logs spanning multi-day windows. Busted Newspaper goes deep with pagination. RecentlyBooked covers a rolling window of bookings. Arrests.org keeps date archives, and Mugshots.zone posts on irregular dates. Mugshots.com looked archival for this area. None of them is the county's live feed.
LaRue Busted Jail Roster Gap
Don't expect a live roster from the county itself. The detention center's official pages offer no name search, no recent-bookings list, no booking-photo results, and no searchable arrest log. The sheriff's page embeds nothing either. That gap could close someday, so check back. Be wary of any site wearing the county's name without a verifiable domain, publisher, and tie to the jail.
Phone first. Call the LaRue County Detention Center at 270-358-9876. Ask whether the person is in custody right now. Offer a full name plus one narrow detail, like an approximate booking date, rather than asking staff to scan a long list. Write down when you called. Custody can shift quickly.
The jail sits at 209 W High Street, Hodgenville, Kentucky 42748. Suite 17 is the jailer; Suite 6 houses the Sheriff's Office. Mixing them up wastes a trip. Start with the jailer for intake, custody, release, and jail-file questions, while the sheriff or another arresting agency may hold the incident report. If neither office will release a photo by phone, file the written county request. List the booking photograph as its own item.
VINE comes next. Treat it as an alert service, not a roster or a photo source. Local jail records and later DOC records can require separate registrations. A release notice means custody changed, nothing more. A blank result just means no confirmed match, so confirm with the jail directly.
JailExchange lists the detention center and repeats its phone number. Its directory pages did not carry a verified live roster, though its cautions about lagging data and shifting county policy are worth heeding all the same. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, Mugshots.zone, and Mugshots.com sit even further from official status. Treat their entries as dated leads that still need confirmation.
LaRue Busted Booking Feed Windows
No verified official same-day feed exists for LaRue. The Herald News jail logs span several days to about a week, and they say nothing about current custody. The commercial sites run on their own clocks: RecentlyBooked claims frequent refreshes, Arrests.org posts daily archives, Busted Newspaper keeps older pages around, and Mugshots.zone has gaps. Those are publisher habits, not county schedules.
LaRue Arrest Alerts Without Mugshots
No official sheriff app, jail booking app, or dedicated photo feed turned up. Kentucky VINE fills part of the gap. It offers free custody notifications through VINELink or 1-800-511-1670. Local jail and DOC records may still need separate registration, and VINE carries no mugshots. The official source appears below.

The service handles custody alerts, while the jail stays the direct source for present local status.
LaRue Busted Records in KOOL
Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, better known as KOOL, tracks state institutions, probation, parole, and other DOC statuses. It is not the LaRue County jail roster. Start with a name or a known DOC or PID number. Advanced filters let you narrow by alias, offender type, supervision status, institution or location, county of supervision, age, offense or KRS reference, indictment information, conviction county, and date ranges. A Photos Only toggle limits results to profiles with an image.
Know which system you are searching. Someone booked at the LaRue County Detention Center may never appear in KOOL if the case never leads to state custody or supervision. A KOOL hit can also stem from an older state case, not a fresh LaRue arrest. Match the official identifier, custody status, location, and conviction county instead of trusting a name alone. County of supervision is a different field from county of arrest or booking.
Photos lag in KOOL, per its FAQ. Most, though not all, offenders have one. A camera icon flags a profile with an available image. The picture can take days to post after state in-processing, and profiles update at least yearly or after a notable appearance change, so the image may postdate a LaRue booking photo. A missing image proves nothing about the county.
Need a state record the interface won't show? DOC takes written open-records requests through its Division of Public Affairs. Include the offender's full name plus birth date or offender ID. Name the photograph expressly. DOC follows its own response rule under KRS 197.025 and may weigh exemptions or custody verification. Don't swap this state process for a local booking request just because both systems hold photos.
LaRue Booking Status Changes
Custody status should drive your choice of source. Someone just booked, or still held locally, belongs in the detention center's system and the local VINE record. A released person can vanish from a current custody check even though the booking sheet, agency report, court case, or historical jail log still exists. For the disposition itself, the LaRue Circuit Clerk is the office to ask.
State custody works differently. A person committed to Kentucky DOC, or placed under its supervision, belongs in KOOL. The photo there is a DOC identification image, which may not match the original LaRue County mugshot. When someone has both a jail record and a state record, VINE may need registration against each one. Careful attention to dates and identifiers keeps the two from merging into one confused file.
Federal custody runs through its own channels. The Bureau of Prisons inmate locator covers federal inmates incarcerated from 1982 forward, searchable by name or federal number, but it offers no public mugshot field. Someone recently arrested on a federal matter may sit in pretrial or contract custody and not yet show up as a sentenced BOP inmate. The U.S. Marshals Service can matter for federal arrest custody, though it keeps no general LaRue booking-photo roster.
Immigration custody is separate again. The ICE Online Detainee Locator uses its own identifiers and name-based fields. A hit there says nothing about a LaRue County criminal charge. A miss there settles nothing either. ICE, BOP, DOC, and the county jail are distinct custodians, so ask each source only what its system was built to answer.
Upton adds one final routing wrinkle. Its city boundary straddles LaRue and Hardin counties. An arrest tagged only with the word Upton may have gone through a Hardin County agency and jail. Confirm the county side, the arresting agency, and the booking facility before assuming the LaRue jail, its records request, or its VINE entry is the right place to look.
LaRue Busted Charges Meet Court
The agency records the accusation, the jailer records custody, and the Circuit Clerk holds the court file. CourtNet is an index, not the underlying disposition. The LaRue Circuit Clerk is at 209 W High Street, PO Box 191, Hodgenville, KY 42748, phone 270-358-3421. The County Clerk is a different office.
- Booking
- Jail intake.
- Arraignment
- The first court stage addressing charges and rights.
- Bond
- A release condition.
- Disposition
- The official court outcome.
- Expungement
- A statutory process for eligible records.
The official clerk path appears below.

The clerk supplies the case result that a mugshot or initial charge cannot.
LaRue Busted Mugshots by City
LaRue has two incorporated cities in the project map.
- Hodgenville Busted Mugshots: HPD handles city policing, while local detention generally routes to the LaRue County Detention Center. No HPD arrest blotter was verified.
- Upton Busted Mugshots: Upton crosses LaRue and Hardin counties. Confirm the county side before choosing the jail.
Buffalo and Magnolia are community references. They are not grounds for invented city pages. A place label alone proves nothing about agency, county, or custody.
